Warmington Jubilee Jamboree despite the worries of threatening inclement weather was a resounding success with approximately 160-200 villagers attending, picnics were much in evidence and the facilities provided were well received.
The welly whanging event proved very popular the enthusiasm of those participating was much appreciated however onlookers had to gauge very carefully the direction of flight. Sadly the wheel barrow races were beaten by the rain towards the end of the afternoon however those attending enjoyed the occasion and made the most of meeting their fellow villagers in a celebratory atmosphere.
The Fly past of five aircraft took us all by surprise and whilst impromptu added to the afternoon. The event was broadcast on BBC Radio Northampton with David Short and Graham Reid being interviewed.
It was decided to have an improvised Beacon on the Monday evening in the field used for Guy Fawkes night and despite the continual rain approximately 60 villagers turned out to see the Beacon.
The Fun Field Committee express their appreciation to all those who offered their assistance to run the event. We have now accumulated a quantity of bunting and flags, if you have an event which would benefit by the use of please contact any one of the Fun Field Committee.
